We celebrate Valentine's Day on February 14th. It's the time we remember the ones we love with gifts of candy, flowers and other presents. But anytime is a good time to remember some of things the Bible has to say about love.
Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her.
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Deut 6:5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might
Psalm 119:127 Therefore I love Your commandments above gold, yes, above fine gold.
Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.
Matthew 22:37-39 And He said to him, ?You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.? This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ?You shall love your neighbor as yourself.?
John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
Hebrews 10:24 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds
1 John 3:14-18 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death. Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has the world?s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.
Romans 8:37-39 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Remember God's love for you today.
